The Nintendo Uji Kokura Factory, built in this area in 1969, was responsible for manufacturing Hanafuda and playing cards in the past, and later functioned as a technical support center for repairing Nintendo game consoles. The Nintendo Museum was created by renovating the building of the Uji Kokura Factory ✨️🏭
Tickets are currently available on the official website by reservation and lottery system with a specified date and time, but as you would expect from a museum that is attracting attention from around the world 💫🌍
The museum is located about 20 minutes from Kyoto Station, about 5 minutes on foot from Kintetsu Kokura Station, and is easily accessible. This fall, a bus service has started connecting Keihan Uji Station, JR Uji Station, and the Nintendo Museum/Kokura Station, so it's a great place to enjoy a stroll around Uji 🍵✨️
The exhibition area on the second floor features a large collection of past game consoles and software ✨️
First, take the escalator, with its lights evocative of the digital world and the sound of game consoles starting up, to the exhibition area on the second floor of the first exhibition hall 🌟 Here, software and related products are displayed for each past game console 🎮📺
It's surprising that almost all the game software that Nintendo has released in Japan since the release of the Family Computer is on display 🖥 Above the exhibits are monitors that show gameplay footage of each software, and ultra-directional speakers that allow you to hear the game music without any mixing of sounds from the side ✨
If you get hungry, head to the HATENA BURGER cafe on the first floor of the third exhibition hall ❔🍔🍟❔
The interior of the store is divided into the "Burger Factory Stage", which is reminiscent of a factory, the "Burger Shop Stage" which is based on a game field, and the "Nostalgic Stage" which is reminiscent of an 80's coffee shop, and the Nostalgic Stage even features stained glass from "The Legend of Zelda" ⚔️✨
The final treat is of course souvenirs, and there is a museum shop called "BONUS STAGE" on the first floor of the second exhibition building
The Nintendo Museum is a place where you can enjoy the world of games and the history of Nintendo from various angles. When I went there, I found that it was a spot that was sure to be enjoyed by both people who are knowledgeable about games and those who are not, and by both children and adults.
